I actually found some good things on Youtube. I found a few videos for ESOL, in which teachers talk about their lessons for 1st grade and 5th grade level. The teachers explain the level of thinking for the lesson and how the students are learning through discussion, vocabulary and, hands-on activities. The first graders are learning about frogs and discuss what is a toad. They also discuss things that are not toads. The fifth graders are learning about the crusades if its a religious war or not. They are building vocabulary and mapping the connections of each side of the war. This appeals to me to see what kind of lessons other students are learning and how the lessons are being scaffold.
The interesting "How to" video I found was How to Create a Website with Circle Pad. This gives a whole new twist on creating a website without using html, css and ftp. They have usable templates that are easily manipulated to make the site your own. I will definitely explore it to see if its worth creating a website.
The one thing I'm glad they added on Youtube was animal planet segments on Pets 101. This is great if you are researching to find a pet. It explains temperament, health problems, and how family oriented they are.
I have explored TeacherTube before. Teachers are able view videos with helpful lessons that many other teachers have created. I was happy that this site wasn't blocked. Its a shame that Youtube is blocked but I can see why. There are many videos out there waiting for us to explore their usefulness for our classroom. We need to find more sites that can benefit our students to mee their visual needs.
Enjoy this video. To explore the ones I found, go to www.delicious.com/abooe. Have fun!

Podcasting?
I have viewed a few podcasts and found one site that I like. The Learn Out Loud website has podcasts for educational purposes or just personal interest. I did find some running podcasts and had explored more on other sites. The one that I found was more for a workout to get ready for a 5k race. I did find some information video podcasts from Runner's World (running magazine). I also looked at Apple-Podcasting in Educations. I did find a series of video podcasts that would be great for the students, Three Countries You Ought to Know. It gives a brief description on three countries from three continents. I looked at the Dominican Republic, Thailand and Malawi. It gave a brief description of culture, food, and people. It also showed a visual location within the continent.
Now that I explored more about podcasts, I feel that I have more visual resources to show the students. I don't have to use Discovery Education to find videos. I can search for podcasts that can be more the students' level and they are updated. I can't wait to have the student to watch one.

Can we say, del.icio.us?
I have had co-worker get lost in her favorites list last year. She wanted to find a website on her favorites list and could not find it, but it was there. Now I can tell her about a website that can save her favorite websites and it is simple to find what she is looking for. I will be using the delicious website to save all the cool sites we have been discovering this semester. The I already added one site to it. I will be telling my co-workers that they can go to my delicious site and access all of my sites without having to ask me about a web address they want their students to work on. My delicious site is del.icio.us/abooe. I will be putting more sites that I have discovered to check it out continously.
